Bread Co. is a crew of fun-loving bakers, sandwich makers, baristas and more
importantly "people-people". We work hard and we love what we

for healthy, fresh foods, breads, sandwiches, coffee and can provide

and don't mind staying in shape hustling in a bakery selling great bread,

for. We're a 37+ year bakery with fabulous customers who are now bringing
their children and grandchildren in to taste our bread and cookies. A lot
of teamwork and effort goes into each day. We are excited about what we
do and the breads we sell. Everyone in the bakery is expected to be
attentive to customers and customer service is always the #1 priority. We
care a lot about what goes into our products and making sure that we maintain a
high standard in everything we produce.
Our customer can buy breads, goodies, sandwiches and
coffee just about anywhere. What entices them into Great Harvest Bread Co
(besides phenomenal products)? You! The folks behind our front counter
set our store apart from all others. Can you put a smile on your face

accept criticism graciously, and create a WOW experience for every customer

Approach all aspects of your job with the following
priorities in mind:
Self-directed but able to work collectively as a team
player. Customers always comes first...they must be acknowledged and
served with a sense of urgency! All customers are greeted with a smile
and in a friendly manner. Serve customers in a patient, cheerfull way
that reflects how we value our customers, our products, and our business.
Make every effort to offer our customers service above and beyond the call of
duty--before we open, after we close, help to car, deliver if possible, etc.--to
establish our store as excellent in customer
service. Customer/sales/dinning are must be kept neat and clean.
Clean the bakery cafe using checklists to our high standards. Chores must
be done routinely and consistently--prep, bagging, cleaning, etc.
Prioritize all chores with product quality and presentation in
mind...bagging and merchandising/display of products is the top priority in
chores. Handle all products as if they were worth 10 times their
price--handle and package with care. Hustle at all times...moving fast
yet neatly and safely. Answer phones in a way that is consistent with our
standards of customers service, using a friendly and cheerful voice.
Develop a sharp sense of product knowledge using assigned materials and
training sessions to be able to answer customer's questions--be a bread
expert! Take special orders properly. Name and phone number of
orderer is a must. Organize orders so that productions staff can fill
every order on its due date. Help out in any assigned "Winning
Hearts" projects or events.
Positions that are available bread kneader and production,
sandwich production, barista, farmers market staff and cafe retail staff.
Bread knead and production - Baking phenomenal bread is what our business is
all about. Can you get up early; do easy math calculations before dawn,
follow directions, stay focused and work quickly and efficiently? Are you
deadline and detailed oriented? Bread making combines art and science,
and you must be able to master both. Not for the faint-hearted, but oh-so
rewarding! When the dough hits the kneading table, you go to work.
You have to work quickly and efficiently. Kneading dough is an art, more
than a science, and is critical to baking phenomenal bread. We will teach
you what you "knead" to know, but you have to know you are willing to
learn and settle for nothing less than near perfection. It sounds simple;
you wait until the bread rises, get it into the oven and take it out when it's
done. Ah, but when you're operating a 30-pan oven, juggling five to six
types of breads, not so simple. Are you up for the challenge?
Sandwich production - Our menu starts with an impressive line of
sandwiches. You're the one who puts it all together. You'll slice
fresh deli meats and cheese, prepare fresh vegetables and follow recipes to
create delicious, made from scratch sauces and spreads. When the lunch
crowd hits, you create fabulous sandwiches, made to order. You must be able to
keep your cool under pressure, work quickly without sacrificing quality, and
follow health department guidelines and procedures. Cafe Retail Staff -
Help customers in store and be an ambassador of our brand. Offering a
slice of bread to each customer. Slicing, bagging and labeling
breads. This position will also assist in catering production and
expediting catering orders. Barista - Prepares coffee by following
prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee and chai drinks, such
as espresso lungo, latte, cappuccino, chai and masala chai. Attention to
details and make each drinks to the highest standards where there are no room
for mistakes. Farmers market staff helps set up stand with tents, crates
of breads, boxes, display stands, signs, etc. Restocking display crates
as soon as possible. You can't sell something that is not made readily availability
to the customer. Help with sales, help customers and able to work with
customers - small talk, answer questions and smile.
To perform each position successfully, and individual must
be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to the highest standards
and follow instructions. The requirements listed below are representative
of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Provide excellence in
customer service by consistently serving each customer with a smile, getting to
know each customer well and being able to sell them outstanding Great Harvest
breads and other products with ease. To develop an intuitive sense of
customer service and to devote strict attention to details. Exhibits job
and product knowledge sufficient to merchandise breads and other products for
sale to customers. Exhibits energy sufficient to maintain a continuous
high-level of productivity and enthusiasm while on duty and possesses the
stamina to work the early-morning shift regularly. Exhibits stress
tolerance sufficient to perform duties with a positive attitude, even when
faced with difficult or unusual pressures or circumstances. Exhibits
organizational skills sufficient to ensure production are completed with accuracy
and according to time schedules, without slowing down the down the production
flow. Exhibits initiative sufficient to perform assigned duties without
regular reminders; and sufficient to be actively engaged in improving the
atmosphere of the bakery cafe. Exhibits cost consciousness sufficient to
eliminate mistakes that would create non-sellable products. Exhibits communication
skills sufficient to effectively give and receive information to customers,
co-worker and management; and sufficient assertiveness to make needs and
concerns known in a constructive way. Exhibits leadership skills
sufficient to lead by example, constructively direct the work of fellow employees
and handle problems when they arises.
Must have strong math skills, strong attention to detail,
follow instructions, work FAST and be reliable. Will be
crossed-trained in cafe retail staff, sandwich production, and farmers market
staff. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to work any
day as scheduled. Hours and days will vary. Cannot stress enough
that you need to be fast, reliable, accurate, follow instructions and pay
attention to details to the highest standards! The customer must be your

Most positions are part-time but will hire some full-times employees.
